Georgette's Home-Personal Narrative

The rising sun cast shadows on the newly blacktopped parking lot. On the outlying edges a fine mist rose from the morning dew dancing with the gentle breeze. It would have made for a breathtaking view had Georgette noticed it. However, this morning her eyes were watching her feet walk as her mind wrestled with reasons for the feeling of apprehension rising like a chokehold from deep within.

Arriving at the back of Bus 57 she shook herself like a dog ridding itself of water. Her hand spattered with age spots pulled the worn baseball cap out of her back jean pocket. She released a long deep sigh as she slowly tucked her unruly blond hair into it. Fumbling to find the right key on an overloaded key ring she finally opened the back door and climbed in.

Bus 57, Row 9, Right Side, Window” drove to Georgette’s house to pay her a visit. He was not surprised when he saw it was his supervisor who opened the door. They greeted each other and he showed “Mr. Bus 57, Row 9, Right Side, Window” to Georgette’s room.

There she laid peacefully with the covers tucked in around her. She appeared to be sleeping so he quietly sat in the chair next to her bed contemplating what he would say. It was only a short while before she opened her eyes and look at him.

“How are you feeling?” he inquired.

She sighed and rolled her eyes. “I am really not feeling anything. He looked into her eyes intently for a short time searching as if looking for something lost before she closed them.

“Is there anything I can help you understand?” he ask.

There was silence in the room for what seemed like an eternity. She turned her head and her eyes glistened as she looked into his.

“There really is nothing you can do or say, “Mr. Bus 57, Row 9, Right Side, Window”. What I really, truly wish is that I never ever met you,” she softly

"He left, feeling that if he had searched harder, he might have found her -- that he was leaving her behind. The day-coach -- he was penniless now -- was hot. He went out to the pen vestibule and sat down on a folding-chair, and the stations slid away and the backs of unfamiliar buildings moved by, Then out into the spring fields, where a yellow trolley raced them for a minute with the people in it who might once have seen the pale magic of her face along the casual street. The track curved and now it was going away from the sun, which as it sank lower, seemed to spread itself in benediction over the vanishing city where she had drawn her breath. He stretched out his hand and desperately as if to snatch only a wisp of air, to save a fragment of the spot that she had made lovely for him.…

A slate sky hung over the Santa Cruz mountains, loosing a persistent drizzle from swollen, purplish clouds that seemed to bruise the morning. Below, an L-shaped house cut into the steeply inclined corner of Debby Lane and West Park Avenue, its sprawling grounds perched on the rock wall surrounding the property. The dark orbs of her pupils, filling her wide eyes until little more than a sliver of their color was visible.…

“Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken” does not depict the first poorly handled rape scene in Game of Thrones’s history. Benioff and Weiss continuously convert canon consensual sex scenes in the books into nonconsensual ones in the show. For instance, in the pilot, Daenerys Targaryen is also raped on her wedding night by her newly wedded, Khal Drogo. Tears streaming down her face, Drogo disrobes Daenerys and as she attempts to cover her chest to preserve her sense of dignity, he removes her hands and pushes her down on her knees (“Winter is Coming”). Conversely, in the first installment of A Song of Ice and Fire, the consummation is far more consensual: [Drogo] stopped then, and drew her down onto his lap.…
