I'm choosing to write about the short story “Borders. ” This story is told through a younger boys perspective, however, I shall be explaining his mothers experiences with the border patrol guards. The two are on a journey to Salt lake city, to visit Laetitia, the boys older sister. When they finally make it to the American border, a guard quickly asks for their citizenship. The mother replies with “Blackfoot” the guard wont accept her answer, asking once more. The mother continues giving her answer previous answer, “Blackfoot. ” Her stubbornness keeps her from passing, and is soon speaking with multiple guards.
