It is September 11th,2001. It is a cool and breezy morning as Martin took a drive through New York City to take his son, Will, to work. The air smelled polluted but Martin didn’t mind. The buildings behind them and around them all look like they could use a wash. They just look like one big brick in a big city. Jose their dog, is with them also. When they arrive at the huge and magnificent Twin Tower, Will gets out, but Martin and Jose stay. After a few silent minutes of the gazing, Martin had seen a plane heading straight for the tower that Will was working at.

Martin yells, "Run for your life!"

The speeding plane crashed into the tower in a fiery blaze. Nobody could have predicted it. Martin thought the world was coming to an end.

"We are all going to die!" He yelled.

Martin was more concerned and worried than ever.

Jose was barking more than she ever had before. Martin picked Jose up and put her in the car. As Martin was getting the car, another plane hit the other tower. Martin didn't care. All his thoughts were on Will. Martin pushed the car to its limits. The red car used to be bright, but now it is dark crimson because of all the dirt and it had been damaged by falling pieces.

As Martin sped off to the Fire House, he couldn’t think. He was so worried that he started to cry. It was so busy at the Fire Department that he had to wait an hour before he could get to his suit. Will didn’t know Martin was a Volunteer Firefighter. Being the very thoughtful person Will was, Martin knew he wouldn’t approve of Martin risking his life for other people. Martin was a Captain. Martin had a pretty big ego when it came down to who was the best Fireman.

As Martin rushed into the Twin Tower, all crumbled and smoking, he screamed, "Will, where are you?"

"I am right here," he whispered. "I can't feel anything." He moaned with even more

Jim Dwyer and Kevin Flynn, authors of a non-fiction book , 102 Minutes, explore facts and provide credible sources that give insight on the feelings and thoughts of people who were inside the towers.
