I then asked “why Los Angeles?” They said that the community of Los Angeles was more like that of home, a similar culture, the Spanish language and my grandfather had already had family in California and the Los Angeles area. However, my grandmother was not happy when she moved. She had been so used to a more rural life, where you walked everywhere even if it took a long time to get there. She was used to the Spanish language 24/7 where as in the United States English was spoken and it took some time to adapt but she was able to. The one thing that bugged her the most was that she had to leave the life she knew and made and when she moved to the United States she had to start all over, along with the fact that she had to leave her whole family
