Every year at the end of May, a new marching band season starts. This was normal for Milly. Her band is very well known around her state. Concord is one of the best bands in the state of Indiana. They are from Elkhart, Indiana. Milly was so excited for the season to start, but on the other hand she wasn't . It was her senior year and her last time participating in the marching band. Since she was a drum major last year, Milly is now the head drum major. Being a drum major is one of the hardest jobs in marching band. Everyone is looking at you and making sure they're in time.

On May 3rd, Milly and her boyfriend, Jake broke up. Jake and Milly were together for two years and she was in love with him. Everyone thought they would last forever. On that day in May,

She's so happy that she made it. They both walk to each other and hug. Hazel eventually finds them then they have a big group hug. The saxophones and the flutes are losing some of their best players, but this could make them stronger. They will struggle for a little bit and it will be hard. They have strong section leaders to make sure that they all know there music and drill.

Milly, Lily, and Hazel walked to the back of the band as Mr. Long starts to talk to everyone. Mr. Long explains how successful the Concord band is and how we are known around the entire state of Indiana. Milly loves spending all of her time with everyone in this room. Everyone was family.

"Now it is time for our head drum major to speak." Mr. Long says loudly.

Milly walked up to the front of the group of people and she nervously began to speak.

"Hello everyone," Milly said quietly, "My name is Milly Davis. I am your new head drum major for this season. This will also be my last year here at Concord."
