Something that my mom can life though is the United States before and after 9/11. September 11th was a day that went down in history as one of the most tragic days of America. On September 11th two airplanes were flown into the twin towers and one was flown into the pentagon, while another plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. Over 3000 people were killed and many more were injured. On September 11th 2001 my mother was driving through New York City. She was on her way back home to New Jersey with me and my siblings in the car. She was hearing everything on the radio. She couldn’t believe that what she was hearing was true. That day forward she noticed a big shift in the way a lot of things were handled. I think that she saw the changes

President Bush took preventive action against enemies. This is the prime reason the war on terror began. The term war on terror was introduced to the American people by President Bush and has been used every since. The war represents the efforts by USA to fight militant Islamism group. The most significant change after the 9/11 was the gaping empty space that was all that was left over of the grand World trade center twin towers which came crumbling down that day. Called as ground zero this empty area became a memorial site to honor the loved ones who lost there lives that day. In March 11 2002, 88 searchlights were arranged in a way that two beams appear to shoot into the sky called as the tribute in light. It was lit everyday till April 14 2002 and since then it was lit on the anniversary of the attack. However reconstruction of these iconic towers is underway with about seven buildings to be built at the site. To live in the US before 9/11 and after 9/11 were two different things. Everyone was shocked and couldn’t believe that our county was attacked. This day that will forever be remember changed the life of every
