It was a cold, dark night, and a storm was ripping through. Bill’s house had lost power, so they had to light candles. None of them could sleep because of the wind and thunder. They start to think that maybe the father had been killed but had no idea how or why. Every couple minutes, Bill would look outside the window but could not see anything. It was just too dark to see anything going on in the yard. They lit more candles to try and light up the room as might as possible. They continued to sit in the room huddled around candles worried about the father. They then heard a loud knocking at the door and thought their father had finally returned. Bill jumped to his feet and bolted to the door. He unlocked the door the flung it open, hoping to see the face of his father who they had not seen in over two hours. Bills face quickly filled with disappointment when he saw his neighbor and not his dad. Only there was something wrong. His neighbor jumped inside their house and quickly shut the door. Bill asked what was happened as his neighbor caught his breathe. His neighbor said that he was trying to turn in their generator, and then he saw the outline of a person in his yard. The person started to chase him so he ran away from his house and towards Bills. Bill brought his neighbor to his mom and sister and told them what had happened. They grew even more scared now and wondered if this mysterious man had killed their father. The candled that they had lit kept going out and couldn't relight them.
