Long ago, people believed that the Earth was the center of the universe, and that all the stars, planets, and other celestial bodies orbited around it. However, as pivotal discoveries were made and new theories emerged, society gained a much more insightful understanding of the cosmos above. In the second century, an astronomer by the name of Claudius Ptolemy proposed his geocentric model of the solar system, which depicted Earth in the center of the universe and the planets and the Sun orbiting in concentric circles around it. There were problems with this model, however, and years later an astronomer named Nicolaus Copernicus proposed another model which showed the Sun at the center.…

She is staying with her grandma who lives in the South and has a very religious background. The grandma asks her how school is going and the girl is afraid to tell her that it isn’t going great. The conflict in this poem is person vs self because the girl struggles with an internal conflict whether or not to tell her grandma how school is going. Samuel Gomez's work attracted me more than any others. Looking at his work we can predict how much effort he put on it. His works are just filled with black and white ink. It seems like he has lot of experience working with contrast colors and that he has come up with the best use of black and white. It is amazing to see his use of lines, and shapes.…

Considering his arguments, however, it is not so difficult to, at the very least, comprehend the surface of his somewhat radical views on the dangers of the arts. It does not accurately reflect reality, which in turn can create a false image of the truth, spread by the individual who perceives it in that way. He argues that although we do get enjoyment from art, art in excess can change our own behaviours for the worse. In the end, art can only ever depict outward appearances to the ignorant observer, and that, in itself, is very dangerous…

Alan Bean was an astronaut in Apollo 12, who later in his life left NASA to become an artist. I think that I connect with this man because if I have a goal, and I really care about it, I will do everything in my power to achieve that goal, even if it means abandoning something else. I don't know if that sounds childish, but that’s basically what Alan Bean did. Even though he was the fourth human being to walk on the moon, he pursued his passion for art. Astronaut Central says "He is a first-rate artist who is as comfortable rendering sharp realism as he is with portraying subtle emotions".…
