Short and Long Term Plans For PMH to successfully accomplish the strategic initiatives it has developed for this project, it is import to create short and long term plans to achieve its’ goals. PMH’s short term plans for its’ rural satellite health clinic include executing marketing procedures to advertise the satellite clinic to consumers in order to gain community support for the project. Moreover, PMH’s leaders will need to put effective recruitment strategies in place to attract and retain new primary care providers to Pocahontas County to staff the clinic. Thus, it is important for PMH to integrate its’ EHR system with health data management technology to easily identify and retrieve data regarding important population health trends and results that can be used to justify the success of the clinic (Porter & Lee, 2013). Subsequently, PMH can construct a working group to gather and study information using data received from its’ EHR system to determine if PMH’s patients are improving their health behaviors and outcomes after the implementation of the satellite primary care outpatient clinic (Porter & Lee, 2013). Also, the working group can verify whether operating costs for primary care services are lower in satellite clinic and if preventable hospital admissions are decreased when patients in the community have more access to health care services via a satellite clinic. Furthermore, PMH can align with the Center for Rural Health Development, INC. to gather qualitative and quantitive epidemiological data regarding Pocahontas County’s population health trends and accumulate data for another Community Health Needs Assessment (PMH, n.d.). This will assist PMH in determining whether the satellite clinic contributed to improvements in Pocahontas County’s population health outcomes from when the previous Health Needs Assessment was
