Information can be process in three ways shallow process which involves structural processing and phonemic processing (McLeod, 2007). Deep processing which involves sematic process which is being able to see the meaning of a work and the similar words with similar meaning (McLeod, 2007). In regards to playing the clarinet would be in consideration of shallow processing. Being able to look at the notes on the music sheets is structural process which is how appearance of how letters look. Shallow process also includes the maintenance rehearsal on being to access this information by repetition which this information stores in short term (McLeod, 2007). According to Craik and Lockhart (1972) deep processing enhances long term memory rather than shallow processing.
