After reading Shopkeepers of the World Unite, I’ve realized the art world has become more commercial, in a sense of the work being produced but also the artists. For example, Marina Abramovic making Adibas commercials and Red Bull Studios, which Glazek mentions in the article. He moves on by stating “market value relies on presenting [artists’] work as somehow outside the market system” in reference to the DISown show which was at Red Bull. Glazek also talks about accessibility and how “DIS wasn’t for everyone, but it was definitely for me”, going along with this very contradiction conversation with art starting with DIS is the idea that the material is available for everyone but not everyone actually has or wants the access to the material.
