One of those things was making me feel very special and the center of attention for one special night each year. But before this very special night, my mom and I would go shopping for a dress and then get my hair done all pretty. Now flash forward back to the big night. My dad would take me out for dinner to wherever I wanted to go. One year I went to Outback Steakhouse and another year I went to Olive Garden. After dinner we would go to a church where they decorated it to be the best night. Every year, there was lots of dancing and prizes (and I would win sometimes!). I’ve learned to appreciate these things that my dad has taught me. For example, my dad taught me to face my fears by going on that roller coaster that at the time was terrifying. Ever since then I’ve been the biggest fan of roller coasters. My second story was about me taking the time out of my life to make others happy. The best way I could explain that lesson was the example of when my dad would take me to the father daughter dance every year. Finally, my dad makes me challenge myself. Without a little challenge in my life, my life would be too easy and have no meaning to it. My dad always asks me, “are you struggling?” and I say “YES!” He then would say, “good” because he knows if life is too easy, it’s not a life to live. Even though his sayings are very annoying now, I already know 110% that these lessons are going to make me a better person, student, Christian, wife (maybe), and daughter to my wonderful
