The quake that shook Everest (2015)
The Tragedy that Shook Everest was an earthquake followed by an avalanche which was the most powerful earthquake to happen in 80 years. The Earthquake had a magnitude of 7.8 that is almost the highest magnitude an earthquake can get. The earthquake struck kathmandu valley at 11:56am. The earthquake destroyed the khumbu icefall. The avalanche that followed the earthquake wiped out the whole base camp of everest.
The earthquake/avalanche that wiped out base camp also killed many people that were on Mount Everest. 13 people were found dead on mount everest. A total of 20 people died because of the earthquake and avalanche.
