In “Shoemaker’s Holiday” the play is written based on a love, comedy, and class. This story includes a man named Lacy nephew of Lincoln and a lady named Rose daughter of Oatley who desire to be together, because of the love they feel for each other. In this play family members tend to make it difficult for them to stand for what they want. Despite the obstacles they find different ways to keep contact with one another despite the obstacles they face in the play. In this play, there are many different scenarios that happen because of class levels. Rose is a higher class than Lacy therefore they are not granted the permission to be together. Oatley and Lincoln argue quite a bit over Lacy and Rose due to the reason that they don’t want their family connected in any way due to the reason that people might open their mouth and accuse Lacy of being with someone higher then him to gain wealth which is not what he wants.
