THE SHINTO RELIGON Let’s say that you are Japanese, Born and bred there. You would be one of the 3 million people in the Shinto religion and you would believe in Kami: But I doubt that you are not from Japan and have no idea what the Shinto religion and Kami are. As you could obviously tell the Shinto religion was and is created and practiced in Japan. There was no founder/whoever they are unknown. This religion was created in the 6th century. The main Shinto holidays/celebrations are January 1st whichis the Shinto New Year, January 7th Koshogatsu (honoring Goddess Izanam), January 15th, Seijin Shiki (Adults' Day), February 3rd, Rissun (beginning of spring celebration), February 17, Toshigoi (the rite to honor Kami), March 3rd, Hina-matsuri
