Shiloh's Insecurity: A Narrative Fiction

Improved Essays
Insecurity didn’t last long though, because as terrifying as this was, Shiloh had kissed him back. And her reaction to the whole thing — from the look on her face to her immediate teasing — it was reassuring. Where this was going and how they were getting there was still a mystery, but Vihaan took comfort in knowing that the truth was out there in the open — regardless of the fact that it hadn’t yet been admitted verbally. “Ha ha,” he shot back mockingly, unable to fight back a smile, “Revel in the moment, ‘cause it’s not a common occurrence.”

Every bit of shiloh’s touch was burned into his skin, leaving invisible imprints that would make it impossible for him to forget any detail of what was happening right now. As she leaned in again, Vihaan’s hand found the small of her back and pulled her in. Gathering his thoughts enough to be scared wasn’t an option. Despite their movements being more careful this go around, time seemed to be moving too fast to focus on anything other than his lips on hers and the warmth between their bodies, the electricity surging through to his finger tips. He was almost lost enough in the moment to lose control of the situation — and Shiloh was certainly tempting — but the tiny bit of hesitation lingering the back of his head only grew as she pulled away from him a second time.

Whatever hesitation he was feeling wasn’t enough to separate from her completely, and he was overwhelmed with the need to keep his hold on her. And she had no idea what she was doing

Unimpressed by the early morning alarm clock, he angrily pulled his pillow over his head and attempted to drown out the noise. However, the humorous fact that the sound easily penetrated through the downy feathers brought a good-natured smile to his lips, and with a resigned sigh, he threw the pillow onto the floor and sat up. From across the room, Tom yawned loudly, a sleepy smile spreading across his face.…

(A playful writing influenced by A. A. Milne’s ‘Winnie the Pooh and Beatrix Potter’ Stories) I gaze from my window to see a slight rustle in the conifers, picking up my binoculars with curiosity I notice a wood pigeon fluttering about; my imagination gets the better of me, thoughts rolled into a story. I don’t believe in happy endings; but I will try and write something with a good end to it and no better way can a story be brought to life than through the antics of wood pigeons. There was a group of eight pigeons and in that group there were five males and three females; I know the odds are not looking good for all the males and some will miss out and, of course, it is generally the weaker ones. It was spring, that time of year when…
