The largest denomination is the Sunni sect. Almost 90% of all Muslims are Sunni Muslims. Sunnis are referred to as traditionalists as they believe that we should follow the original teaching of Muhammad. They believe that the first four Caliphates, or Muhammed's successors, rightfully became the leaders of Muslims. This belief differs from Shiite Muslims.
