The first emperor of China was Shihuangdi, whose name means just that First Emperor. He became emperor in 221 BC, and promoted himself as the emperor. Shihuangdi was a cruel leader who did not like when people did not follow what he wanted. He easily killed those who did not agree with things that he wanted or agree with his ideas. He did not approve of the people talking about anything from the past and got rid of all things that even acknowledged anything from the past. Shihuandgdi is also responsible for extending the walls in China to create The Great wall of China in order to stop invading barbarians from the north. He also standardized Chinese writing. Although he was not a happy or fun emperor, he did do a lot for China to help them become who they were. He was very into politics, culture and the economy. The people of China had to make sure that they paid their taxes at all times and make sure there money was correct, if not they would be killed. They helped with economics, schooling, and allowing there countries to grow. They both did their best to protect their people in times of war and fought hard to save their land. Shihuangdi was a fierce leader who demanded a lot of things to be done while Charlemagne was more laid back but still got the job done. I believe that this is why Charlemagne was more respected and made it further because his people respected him more. Shihuangdi would threaten to kill anyone who did not do things his way which put more tension between him and his people. Charlemagne did more for his people and wanted them to live life just like him. He was a family man who loved his children and wanted what was best for
