Shielding Kino's Family

The Pearl was full of hectic events that all supposedly happened because of the glorious Pearl. In all of these chaotic events, family seemed to be the most important thing in this book. Everyone seemed to band together, and they supported on their family for nearly everything. Kino’s actions are affected by the loyalty of Kino’s family members because he knows that his family will constantly be by his side no matter what he does. Kino’s family would not give him consequences, and that causes Kino to go do something else bad, because Kino knows that when he goes to his family, he will not be turned away. Therefore, everything would become an ongoing cycle. In my opinion, Juan Tomás was not correct in shielding Kino, especially after the
