Split like his identity, perhaps a self-fulfilled wish, two brain wavelengths occupied the ragged man. The descent into shame dampened any defenses Bruce would’ve had since the transformation lacked completion; however, his frantic mental state allowed his other half access to his side of the brain – leaving the physical form a human flux between the two borderline personalities. Rather than shield puny Banner in a cocoon of darkness, an inkling of green lingered ever so possessively; a lack of the human’s hysteria preventing him from succeeding entire control. Banner’s self-destructive thoughts came to no surprise, but if he didn’t want it, the stronger half would’ve gladly taken the role as the core personality.
