That being said, the majority of women are not in her beneficial position. Christensen offered a valuable sentiment in stating that Sandberg’s “Lean In” is hypocritical due to Facebook’s male dominated workforce. This is extremely problematic, as Sandberg advocates women to seek out jobs in leadership positions, but there are so many corporations that have male dominated staffs. Therefore, the onus should not be on women, but rather on corporations to hire these women. Additionally, the onus should also be on the government, as it’s extremely problematic that the majority of women are making $15 an hour or less in the United States. Domestic violence is a serious issue that plagues society. The NFL is currently the most popular sports league in America and would be duly served to improve its image and promote a similar campaign to #LeanInTogether. The NFL currently does have Women’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, however by promoting women’s rights, they could gain a different audience. This hypothetical program should not only criticize the domestic violence issues in our country, but also should promote the need for equal rights for women in the workplace. First and foremost, it would be necessary for the NFL to offer more women leadership roles in order for their program to be authentic. There is a lack of opportunities for women in leadership positions in sports. This is clearly problematic not only to society, but in promoting any cause of this matter.
