So in this essay, I will be discussing my experiences growing up, sherman alexie’s experiences in “ Indian education” and how they are similar and different. In first grade I got in trouble a lot. My mom or grandma would come up to the school. The teacher was probably scared of me and Ajeya. I didn’t stay at that school very long though. I left in the the middle of that school to go to a different school during the first grade. In seventh grade was the first time i ever been/ went to an all girl school. I was shy at first but then as I got to know everyone I started to become me. I made friends that I still call friends till this very day. A lot of drama happened , girls fought, argued, and ect. I was never in the drama but I knew a lot about what was going on. Now my ninth grade year is this year. I am still at an all girl school but this time it is a middle school and a high school put in one. My year is going okay

But I think his experience was different from mines because I went to a school where the kids looked like me. He went to a school for basically white kids only so no one looked like him at all. He is indian so people treated him differently at the schools he went to in his life. They thought he did all of the things indians did on the reservation like drink and stuff. I am just a normal black girl. My school life was okay no one really discriminated me at school like they did him. He went to a coed school and I go to an all girl school. So his school experiences was way different from mines. I noticed we had more differences than comparisons when it comes to our school

He thinks that Indians are nonviolent people and they are faithful to their natural Lords as well as the Christians. For example, de Las Casas uses “gentle sheep” (Cobbs.…

Moving from Albuquerque, New Mexico was the first impactful event of my life. When I was seven years old and almost a half, my parents told me that my family of six was going to pack up everything, leave our home, our livelihood, and move to Idaho. At this time, I was young, but I knew I was going to miss Albuquerque. Already, I knew I was going to miss the plump dappled quails who walked quickly with their wee babies toddling behind in a straight line and the skinny, all leg, roadrunners who would sprint across the roads. As well as those birds, I was going to miss my little Crocodile Smile green room.…

“ What do you want to become when you grow up” was how every discussion began when a new school year started. Each time I only had one answer: midwife. I didn’t know how I was going to become one, but I knew someday I would. From the time I was in middle school to the time I graduated from High school, there were many challenges, but there were always solutions. Growing up, I had to establish my way of thinking differently than other kids because I didn't come from an economically built home.…

Growing up fitting in was never really too big of a problem for me as I was never put down by anyone or out casted by a group. I grew up in a very diverse neighborhood with the majority population of African Americans, Hispanics, and Caucasians. I never cared for or saw skin color as a problem, whenever I wanted to participate in an activity I just barged in and participated. In other words I did what I wanted to do. I knew that if I wanted to make a new friend all I had to do was speak to somebody new and we’d become friends over a while.…

I would live a hour and thirty minutes away and I might dislike the Muskego Norway school district. Obviously I’m still here so she must have done something.…
