Geeta S. Iyengar says, “Knowledge has a beginning but no end.” I agree with this quote because I do not think there is anyone in the whole world who has a knowledge of everything. A person will always find a new idea that he or she was not familiar with it before. It is really worth to strengthen your knowledge specially a detective because they will need knowledge on many subjects to solve …show more content…
Sherlock observe things when he is at the crime place or he meets the new person instead of just seeing it. The conversation between Sherlock Holmes and John Watson in The Adventure of the Blanched Soldier is that “Dr. Watson says,”Holmes, you see everything”. A fine example of deduction would be when Sherlock tells Watson that “you do not propose to invest in South African securities?” (The Dancing Men 249). Watson got shocked because he did not told Sherlock anything about investing then how did he know? Then, Sherlock explained Watson how he deduced him.
Some people might say that Sherlock Holmes is not a good detective or they might argue that he solves the case on just assumptions. Nobody can say that he just assumes things because there is a lot more to it, then just assumptions. Sherlock Holmes says to Watson in The Boscombe Valley Mystery that “You know my method. It is founded upon the observation of trifles” (107). Sherlock do not guess, instead he uses observation and method of deduction to solves the
