At this point in the play, Juliet is explaining to the friar that her parents have arranged for her to marry a man named Paris, yet she is in conflict because she desperately wanted to marry Romeo, a man she fell in love with a few days prior. Juliet came to the friar because she was in desperate need of a solution. She would do anything to avoid marrying Paris, even leap from her tower. This relates to the theme that emotions influence actions because Juliet so longingly wanted Romeo that she would go to any length to avoid marrying Paris. Her emotion in this quote is desperation. Desperation caused her to go to the friar to help her find a solution. In this case Juliet was willing to take any solution over marrying Paris.

A couple days prior, a tornado watch was sent out that frightened Theresa. In her fear she decide to hide in a metal chest freezer not thinking of the consequences. Once she thought the coast was clear she tried to get out, but her body was too cold and weak to lift up the steel lid, and so she stayed. She laid there for days trying to get the energy to get out. She was found 5 days later, nearly dead, by her son. This relates to the theme that emotions influence actions because Theresa was so absorbed with fear of the tornado that she did not stop to think of the consequences of hiding in the steel chest
