From my perspective, Shelly is a good person (that is, I hold her in my highest esteem for her qualities as a human being) with keen insight and sound judgment and possessing many additional qualities of an ideal administrative assistant. Shelly is highly competent in every aspect of the occupation, honest, candid, thoughtful and fully able to interact with a diverse array of vital internal and external constituencies. Demands evolve and change, so it is important to be flexible and adaptive while remaining grounded in organizational values and purposes as Shelly continually demonstrated she was able to do.

In addition to Shelly’s character, leadership, creativity, and functional competence, she contributed to TDC in two other very important ways: through her empathy and her ability to question our assumptions, enthusiasms, and analyses without causing upset.
