All work places should have clear policies and procedures in handling concerns regarding children. Disclosure of a child being abused, harmed or bullied can happen any time and can be very shocking. Making a child feel safe and comfortable may help the child open up better. Listen carefully to what the child has to say, stay clam at all times and try not to show shock or disbelief. Accepting what has been said no matter how deep it may be, most importantly reassuring the child and giving them the right support and comfort they need will help the child.

Many children at a tender age are forced to work long hours in factories that contain many hazardous conditions that make their lives difficult. Although child labor benefits many businesses, the children suffer terribly from beatings, deleterious factory conditions, and many health issues. Children not only work excessive work hours that tire them mentally and physically, they also receive brutal beatings for simple little errors. The article introduces ideas about who children were more likely to disclose to depending on several aspects such as age. Young people were more likely to approach their peers before talking to a family member but many individuals did ask for help from family members and it would usually be their parent they would go to first and disclose abuse to, however if the abuser was a family member they were more likely to disclose to other relatives such as grandparents or they would often approach teachers and this was because they were confident about the relationship they had and the help that they were given by their teachers in the past. In a number of cases the family members would not believe the young people and if they did tell them they were…

Many times it is not the lack of knowledge that abuse may be occurring but the fact that the perpetrator may be someone close therefore making reporting an even more difficult task. Another concern with child abuse being reported is educating those who are expected to make the report. Lusk, Zibulsky, and Viezel (2014) believe that it is very important that school personnel be educated in mandated reporting because almost half of the children that encounter abuse are between 3 and 11 years old. They also go on to say that if a mandated reporter has…

Wow! Your post is a touching one regarding the child that took the video game cartridges from other children in the class and took some home. You handle the situation correctly when the other children told you who had the video games last; and you called him out of the room to speak with him about it.
