The Shawshank Redemption is a movie directed by Frank Darabont and based off a novel by Stephen King called Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption. It follows a main character, Andy Dufresne, after he is convicted of the murder of his wife and her lover and he is sentenced to life in jail. While he is serving his sentence, he becomes friends with another inmate, Red. He also finds himself being protected by the guards after the warden of the prison begins using him for an illegal money operation.
