Sharpen The Saw Activity Analysis

Decent Essays
The third habit that I score 17 out of 18 points was sharpened the saw. Sharpen the saw Means self-renewal in the following areas of your life, Physical, Social/Emotional, Mental and Spiritual. Physical – We usually do not take the time take care of our physical self. I am guilty of such action. Instead of setting an hour a day to prepare healthier food, exercising or resting, I use to spend my downtime on the couch watching TV. The second sharpen the saw activity is social/emotional connections. After I read the 7 habits book, I started to know that I don’t actually have an appropriate balance among the various aspects of my life (family, friends, work, and so forth). I started to know this as I read the RBA (relationship bank account) pages. I came to know that about me because in the RBA section, RBA deposits and RBA withdrawals, I read the RBA deposits and I didn’t fit into all of them, but as I read the RBA withdrawals I came to know that I fitted into almost everything like Break promises, Talk too much, and Keep to yourself. I always do these kind of stuff to my friends, peers, and my best friends which makes it harder to keep up with my relationships. In the habit 4 worksheet, I had a lot of situations that relates to win- lose and lose- win attitude which I could have easily changed to a win- win situation, but I didn’t…

The article discusses the reasons people tend to engage in social media, taking note that the main reason is that of my own: to keep up with friends and family. It states that in cases such as social media sites, friendships come almost effortlessly. While it appears we have many friends in sight of our social networks "friends list's", actual friendships take loads of time and commitment, lasting and meaningful ones especially. Sites like Facebook provide us the opportunity to rekindle old friendships and reconnect with others', they don't provide us with strong friendships. I enjoyed that while the article noted that friendships maintained through social networking sites may not be as strong due to lack of face-to-face engagement, it didn't discourage us from keeping our accounts on such sites so long as we also include personal time with our friends, balancing between both social sites and actual time spent together as the article…

In reality, there's no telling that we are already embracing and practicing bad habits. While we may be denying it, most people we make contact with everyday can attest to that. Motivational teacher Brian Tracey said that "while good habits are hard to develop but easy to live with, bad habits are the opposite since they are easy to develop but hard to live with." We develop bad habits and negative thoughts because of the pressure and stress we encounter.…

In this time of the century, face to face communication with others is something that many of us don 't have or practice in our normal day to day activities. This is prevalent especially for those people who spend their regular days in a computer. In doing so, our more important relationships with our loved ones suffer because we put more time and effort into social media (Krakowsky, 2014).…

In a real world, when we wake up, we do the same type of things every day. Some people eat the same type of food, wear the same type of outfits, have the same hairstyles; many people repeat the same type of thinking pattern, and often the same types of small decisions we make in our lives. We have been doing these things for so long that we don’t even realize that they are the sum of our habits, and that’s what leads us to what we are today.
