Introduction .
Shangai is a city in China that has one of the biggest populations and contains the globe’s major ports. The city was established over 700 years ago in Hangjina’s river delta in East China (Needham, & Wang, 1994).The city is located in the eastern seaboard, and generally has a flat terrain.The populous city has a population of more than half a million residents by the year 1816 and has thus grown to become a successful commercial centre.Demographically, the city’s population density is recorded as 8265 people for each kilometer,which is high compared to the other global cities Needham, & Wang, 1994).
Over the years, the city has grown to become economically as well as politically dynamic.It was among the first cities in china to be formally allowed to trade with the western countries on 1842 (Douglas& Jenks,1998).It has so far grown to become China’s leading trading and industrial city . It has a big industry sector , consisting of machinery manufacturing , steel ,and textiles . As such ,it manufactures the higher percentage of the equipment used for power generation in the country .
