Shameless Recently, Shameless has become one of my favorite series on Netflix. Netflix offers many other series, but Shameless in my opinion is the best. Shameless never fails to entertain. There are always exciting and emotional events that take place. I feel as of people can relate to situations in the series. Shameless is an awesome drama because it has dramatic characters, can be provocative at times, and is often thrilling. One reason why Shameless has dramatic characters, is to keep the audience entertained. Fiona is one of the main characters in Shameless, as her character she is very dramatic in most parts of the show. For example, in Season seven episode nine, Fiona start a new business on a laundry mat and a coffee shop, meanwhile she is getting very stressed out. A girl named Jesse wrote a bad review on her businesses. Jesse comes into the restaurant for the first time and Fiona …show more content…
If some of the characters didn’t use certain language, the scenes would not be as funny. For some odd reason when people use foul language, it puts a different emphasis on it. In season six episode twelve, Fiona is at her wedding and her dad surprisingly shows up. You can automatically tell she doesn’t want him there and starts screaming and cussing at him, she calls him very inappropriate names.
Finally, if this show was not thrilling, no one would want to keep watching. In tv shows people feed off entertaining events, if there isn’t any it gets boring leading to turn the show. A thrilling scene in season two is when Jimmy steals a car to sell for money. This leads to a car chase. This scene kind of keeps you on the edge of your seat because you come to a point where you are asking yourself all the questions. Such as, “Is he going to make it?”, “Is he going to die”, or “Is he going to get caught and go to jail.” These are my favorite kind of shows, they are thrilling, but make you question

At the beginning of last semester, I started watching Shameless. Shameless, created by Paul Abbott and developed by John Wells, stars William Macy and Emmy Rossum. The series is successfully able to interpolate its audience and is successfully able to relate to people. The series focuses on many issues within the Gallagher family and messages can easily be perceived through interpolation, cultural analysis, queer analysis, rhetoric and Stuart Hall’s Encoding and Decoding essay. The “Just as the Pilgrims Intended” episode brings out a lot of these theories.…

Motifs can be imagery, language, symbols or elements that reoccur within folklore narrative, or in this case, a television show. The repeated patterns in culture or region help the audience connect ideas, situations, and themes that they may not have connected on their own accord. The reoccurring motif in Shameless is profanity which can be considered as a form of nonrestrictive dialect toward folklore. Swearing or cursing, is often seen as offensive, a sign of mockery, or impolite in a regular conversation. However, Shameless presents derogatory comments in the series as a way of regional communication which is associated with the working-class.…

The TV series Shameless is based on working class family that lives on the South Side of Chicago. The show is based off the dramatic and chaotic life of the Gallagher family. The family of six children depend on the oldest sister, Fiona, to take care of the family due to the absence of the mother and their incapable alcoholic father who comes and goes as he pleases. The unstable family has to cope with the struggles faced with little money and learn how to take care of themselves and also each other. In this paper, I claim that the show Shameless represents the stereotypical ideas of the poor class through the main character Frank Gallagher, for he is portrayed as a lazy, alcoholic father involved with criminal activities.…

Many studies show what personality traits can affect schizophrenia. John Forbes Nash Jr. showed an interesting personality trait that amplified his schizophrenic disorder. According to Capps (2004), his narcissism not only intensified his schizophrenia, but it helped in his recovery or repression of his schizophrenia. The movie, A Beautiful Mind, attempts to convey the life of Nash in a way that is understandable to all. The movie begins while he is in graduate school at Princeton University and it goes throughout his life, showing his falling in love with his wife, the birth of their first son, and his first admittance into a mental hospital.…

Chris McCandless’ actions can be seen as rebellious at first, but as time goes on, it is clear that there is hostility between his parents and himself that he does not want to face or try to fix. In a dysfunctional family, there are two extremes when it comes to the outcome of the children: the rebel or the conformist. Although the older child is typically the conformist and the younger child is the rebel, the McCandless family is a little different because both children are the rebels. Krakauer says, “Also like Chris, she clashed fiercely with Walt and Billie as an adolescent… [but] Carine made peace with her parents shortly after Chris disappeared” (129).…
