Emotions have a great impact on our identity. Shame is a very powerful emotion, that makes us struggle with the believes that we are not good enough, we don’t deserve what we have, and the society will not accept us. Shame makes us think that we don’t have a voice to speak up, and it makes us feel powerless and vulnerable. When shame takes our identity, we expect people to judge us, and we expect to be laughed at. I would say that shame takes the ability to be happy. It blocks other emotions. Sometimes I feel that way, but I did not even suspect that shame is responsible for it. I often feel powerless and the desire to disappear, when I hear people laughing, assuming that I am the subject of their laughter. It is also hard to force myself
