The nineteenth century Shakespearean authorship question proposes the theory that William Shakespeare the Stratford man, was essentially not the author of the well-known Shakespearean plays. This theory in attempts to provide an answer to the question: “If it was not Shakespeare, then who wrote the Shakespearean plays” gives the response of a plethora of different prospects, now most common Edward de Vere Earl of Oxford. This conspiracy however, produces far more questions than it offers answers. William Shakespeare the Stratford man is indeed the author of all the Shakespearean plays, this can be proven through history, reason, and the overarching idea that more evidence is against Edward de Vere being the author than evidence that advocates this theory.…

Shakespearean plays and the King James Bible, are regarded by many scholars as the most influential works of the English language. Consequently, it is a great accomplishment to read either, due to their archaic and elevated quality compared to the literature of today. The works of Shakespeare and the bible are similar in many ways, for instance, in both the Bible and Shakespeare, we can see that they are based on true events in history; the only difference, is that Shakespeare sometimes altered the stories to add drama, whereas the bible is thought to have consisted strictly of the truth and word of God.…

It is “known” that William Shakespeare was born into a family of some prominence in Stratford-on-Avon in April 1564. It is said that his father, John Shakespeare, was a glover and merchant of leather goods, who earned enough to marry the daughter of his father’s landlord, Mary Arden, in 1557. When Shakespeare was young, it is believed that he presumably attended the Stratford grammar school, where he would have received an education in Latin, but he did not go on to either Oxford or Cambridge Universities. Little is recorded about Shakespeare’s early life; indeed, the first record of his life after his christening is of his marriage to Anne Hathaway in 1582 in the church at Temple Grafton, near Stratford. Little is also known about William and Anne Shakespeare’s marriage.…

There is reason to believe that William Shakespeare, possibly the greatest writer in the English language, could be a fraud. Even though his name is signed on the collection of works, researchers and analysts have gathered information over the years that opens our eyes to the facts that he was simply unqualified to be the author of this extensive collection of literature. Many have found that Francis Bacon is a much better candidate to claim authorship of these works. Not only did he have more knowledge to compose Shakespeare's writings, but he also had reason to hide a cipher throughout it. Researchers believe the Baconian Cipher, found in much of Shakespeare's works, can change the concept of English history.…

Since his only son died at childhood, he left his possessions to his wife, two daughters, and to the poor of Stratford. Despite the successful career that the Bard led during his lifetime, much controversy lingers to this day. For instance, many scholars suppose that Shakespeare was not alone behind his genius plays and poems, but had some help from others such as aristocratic Edward de Vele. Since the elaborate and expressive styles found in his writings do not match that of a poor, uneducated man’s manners, most are hesitant to direct all credits to the man. Few scholars even go to the extent to question whether Shakespeare was a real man or not, but have meager evidence to support the claim.…
