Strengths
Shake Shack is known for its eco-friendly reputation by sourcing all their ingredients naturally from high-quality food suppliers (Shake Shack, 2017).
They focus on developing a positive culture in their working environment, by paying employees more than the minimum wage in every state. Moreover, the restaurant organizes frequent group runs, and bike rides as well as matches 401k plans (Shake Shack, 2017).
Its exceptional interior and exterior architectural design, provides it with a modern but also warm, and inviting look to customers (Dana Tanyeri, 2014).
Their strong brand awareness gives them a competitive edge in the fast-food market, which helps them in expansion decisions (Pahygiannis, 2016).

The company has been increasing prices of their dishes, in order to counterbalance increasing labor costs, but it has come off as “too expensive” to customers (Peterson, 2015).

Opportunities
Their eco-friendly reputation fits in with Vancouver’s goal to be sustainable and hence, be the “Greenest City in the world by 2020” (Greenest City 2020 Action Plan, 2017).
Shake Shack’s use of all-natural ingredients, which is a strength, fits well with Vancouver’s image as a very healthy city.
They could introduce new items in their Canadian menu, with local delicacies like poutine, albacore tuna and nanaimo bars, which is bound attract customers (foodnetwork, 2016).
After hundreds of people showed up to Shake Shack’s pop-up store at Momofuku Daisho, Toronto; it’s safe to say that Canadians are interested in the brand and that there’s definitely demand for the restaurant to expand more (Grief, 2017).

Threats
