John Sackett became the new CEO and President in 2013. He comes with a wealth of experience having served 24 years as President and Chief Executive Officer of Avista Adventist Hospital, in Louisville, Colo. John received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Walla Walla College in 1980, and his master 's degree in Health Administration from Loma Linda University in 1982. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He has the academic credentials needed for the task; however, does he have the traits needed to be successful in achieving these tasks;

They elevate the function of the leader to that of an individual who is proactive, and look for opportunities to challenge the workers and effectively promote success. In their opinion, the function of a successful leader, is to challenge the status quo and motivate their worker to embrace the challenge and in so doing improve their performance. The role of the leader is to create a safe environment where workers are empowered, and therefore not afraid to suggest or try new ideas. If this standard is the yardstick by which one evaluates John Sackett’s performance to date then the writer’s opinion, he will get a grade “F.” Mr. Sackett, swipe into the organization and without any input or consensus made major changes. He told the workers of his plans, but warned that if workers are not willing to work, and if they are dissatisfied, they should find employment elsewhere. Many nurses and allied workers took his advice and found employment at the new Holy Cross
