Shadowing Experience

I arrived at Radiation Therapy Department at 8:15 AM and Bicklein introduced me to the staff. Moreover, Bicklein showed me the department and explained the uses of each machine. Then, I shadowed Sally until 2:15 PM. I believed that this shadowing experience was a positive experience because I observed educated people who have a good hand on experience and they were willing to answer my questions.
The place was divided into many rooms: physicist office, Staff room, simulator, linear accelerator, and cyberknife room. First, I participated with Sally in the stimulation, which is very important before the treatment starting. Sally showed me how to introduce herself to the patient and explain the process of the treatment. Moreover, Sally showed me how they have positioned the patient and stabilized the position by the immobilization devices. Then, we discussed

I like working with all of them because they explained very well and they answered every question I would ask them.
During this shadowing experience, I did not find to disliking anything about this experience. Everything was educational, professional and interesting. It was a great learning experience that increased my eagerness to complete my study in Radiation Therapy in the United States. I really appreciate your program for giving me this opportunity to observe the radiation therapy center, and how it works in the United States, which gave me a lot of information about what to expect during the clinical practice in the graduate study.
If I had more time, I would have liked to see how they treat the patient by cyberknife, also, I would have liked to witness them doing

A Respiratory Therapists role in long-term care facility and Homecare My time working at CCOH and RHCS was exciting and interesting. Although they are both respiratory therapist jobs, they each demonstrated something different. While CCOH showed how it is to work in a long-term facility and have consistent patient interaction. At RHCS driving around to the client’s place of business or residence to check on, or collect the equipment, made it personal able.…

My knees shook and my hands twisted as I looked around the clean, polished, well-lit room of MidAtlantic Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation. The light gray rafters and fans of the high ceiling would become very familiar to me as I executed the repetitive exercises, mainly on my back. While the room was undecorated and rather blank, it felt bright and welcoming due to the energetic, optimistic attitude of the occupants. Everyone there, therapist or patient, was working towards a goal, making the environment that much more positive and…

I will take full advantage of the resources provided by the program to better prepare myself for the future ahead of me. I will inquire my student mentors how to prepare for the GRE, how to get an edge as an applicant, and how to be a successful student in professional school. I look forward to shadowing multiple kinds of doctors and learning about the dynamics of how a team cooperates to treat patients. In addition, I aim to connect and learn from other students in the program, as I expect we will all be unique individuals coming from extraordinary backgrounds. I am mostly excited about the hands-on experiences during the program.…

Introduction to the Dental Hygiene profession has been a complete and enjoyable class that set the core all the clinical documentation and protocol to follow here at Fortis college. As part of this class the instructor had create a variety of interactive assignments where students get to experience what it feels when having a real patient in front of them. Such was the clinic observation activity where we, the lower clinic class, had the opportunity to observe how students of a higher class were handling a full clinic section with the help of their high qualified instructors. One of the expectations I had for this activity was that I would be able to see the process of care in action, since the clinician brings the patient to the operatory…

For many, radiation therapy is the difference between hope and despair, life and death. Terminal patients would be far more frequent without the option of radiation. Advancements in technology continue to prove the significance of radiation and its impact on cancer treatments.
