He attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Lenard Wood, MO, where he was assigned to the Bravo Company, 795th Military Police Battalion. Upon completion of OSUT, SFC Miller was assigned to the 188th Military Police Company, 94th Military Police Battalion, Camp Walker, Daegu, South Korea where he served as a driver and a team leader for one year. SFC Miller was selected due to his high level of maturity and performance as a new Soldier to become a team leader above his peers, making him the only private first class team leader in his Battalion. SFC Miller successfully led his team to an APFT average of above a 270, and an SSD 1 completion rate of 100%. During his time in Korea, SFC Miller was the winner of the 94th Military Police Battalion Soldier of the year competition and the runner up in the 18th military police brigade Soldier of the year completion. Following his JRTC rotation SFC Miller deployed to Ramadi, Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn. During his deployment he assisted in the establishment of a Provost Marshal Office in Al Asad Air Base. Additionally during this deployment SFC Miller was responsible for the training of over 200 Iraqi Police in law enforcement techniques and procedures. SFC Miller served as the Military subject matter expert and chief trainer for all Iraqi police inside his Area of operation. In May SFC Miller, returned to Fort Campbell and was 1 of only 2 Military Police Soldiers who were selected to attend the Pathfinder Course apart of class 08-12. After Pathfinder, SFC Miller attended Military Police Advanced Leader Course (ALC) where he finished top of his class and graduated as the distinguished honor graduate of class
