Seymour Chwast is an American graphic designer, but he was also an illustrator, and a type designer. He was born on August 18, 1931 in New York City, New York. An interesting fact about Chwast is that he married designer Paula Scher in 1973, divorced five years later, and remarried her in 1989. He is mostly famous for his commercial work, including magazine covers, food packaging, and posters. He was once hired by McDonald’s when they needed a design for their first box for the Happy Meal. A good chunk of his designs are cartoon style drawings, and are very unique to the point where you can tell that he was the designer without having to be told. Chwast has designed four different fonts and still continues to work in the design industry today.
