The visual documents on women in the workplace reveal that women were not treated fairly and was only given jobs that were considered feminine. In the workforce women were denied job that was considered not fit for women such as flight attendants, and jobs at phone companies, and more. Since the creation of Title VII and the Equal Employment Opportunity commission (EEOC) which was used to fight for women right, and complaints women began filing as soon as the commission was established. One of the complaints was from flight attendants who felt as though they were treated as servants. The airlines exclusively hire women and then place a strict limitation on weight, appearance, and age. African American, women of color and married women were not allowed to work there. They only hire young, unmarried women, and this takes away the value of work. Women were treated with disrespect and paid poor wages. EEOC help files a suit against the American airline and won the case. This opens up a path for women of color and to men as well within this profession. Women were tired of the sexual objectification, and this is what led to the establishment of this organization. They wanted to fight the way women was disfavor and sexual way.
