Horror films are where females are overly sexualized. Seeing females forced to have sex and other things generally get men into thinking that all women like forced sex and like doing all the other things they are forced to do in movies. In 1986 Malamuth and Briere said that the media influences are one of the many contributions to violent behavior with men. According to research that has been done so far, it shows that violent sexual behavior towards women in movies and in media have no connections towards the violent sexual behavior in real life by men. Many people try to blame media for how men act towards women, but many people don't seem to realize that men have to take responsibility for their sexual actions towards females. The media cannot be blamed for actions taken against women because men can't stop themselves. Sexualizing women in the media makes them targets for sexual violence from men. Men see how other males overpower females and it shows them that females are weak and can be overpowered, that typically would show how much women are targeted. Research shows that most women in horror films are kept alive for a long time because the camera focuses on their pain and suffering. The self-report that each male filled out after watching the sexual violence also revealed that 41% of all the participants reported that they would consider raping a woman, if there wasn't going to be consequences. Linz and Donnerstein have reasoning that the pornography shown to the males in this study was to violent and that's what made the men act and say what they did, depending on how much violence is in the shows you see and watch it makes you feel different. They also said that if the men were shown less violent images they probably wouldn't have had the same reactions as they did with the more sexually violent show. Also in the shows the males were watching the female was portrayed as not wanting it at first and just playing the victim, to the man overpowering her and forcing her to do something and enjoy something she didn't want. Showing this makes men think that they can do the exact same thing to other
