When looking at some of these scripts it easy to see why and how sexual scripts slip over into other areas that are not really related to sex. A great deal of the sexism that is seen in the world could be traced back to sexual scripts. The idea that men should be charge may have a relation to gender pay gaps. It also makes it difficult for women and men to really understand the female body. Women are in constant conflict over their desires and the way they are told they should behave and it creates confusion. Women should be sexy and attractive, but still innocent and not too experienced. Women who step outside of the norms are often called names and treated differently. It also creates a problem when women are raped, they often feel that it was their fault and do not report it. Men are supposed to be strong, in charge, and unemotional, this might confuse and frustrate men that do not automatically fall into those categories.
