However, sexual activities could be sometimes unhealthy. Sexually transmitted disease called STDs for short – are disease, infection, or illnesses that can spread from one person to another through sexual contact, from sexual touching to any kind of sexual intercourse- vaginal, oral or anal intercourse. Another term for STDs is STIs – short for sexually transmitted infections. An older term for STDs is VDs – short for Venereal disease. (Harris 83)
Harris follows this introduction of STDs definition and terminology, by a well-detailed message on how these diseases will transmit and how to avoid them. In the final parts of the book, she did not forget to capture the kid’s attention about sexual abuse, and how is the right way in dealing with these situations.
Sexual abuse happens when someone mistreats a person in sexual way. Sometimes it happens when someone who is more powerful than another person or when someone who is older than another person takes advantage of that person in a sexual way. It is wrong for anyone to take advantage of another person just because he or she is older or more powerful. (Harris

Throughout the presentation, I constantly made use of two rhetorical devices, which were rhetorical question and pathetic appeal. In the beginning, I made use of the rhetorical question by asking the audience whether they have personally met or confronted a victim of physical/sexual abuse or teen pregnancy. For the most part, the answer to the question went as planned.…

In the book “Virtually Normal” by Andrew Sullivan published by Vintage Books, Sullivan talk about different political parties and their views on homosexuality. Andrew is in no means justifying the views of homosexuality in terms of political viewpoints, in fact, he himself is a gay man. This book shows the political views of prohibitionists, liberationists, conservatives, and liberals. Prohibitionists believe that homosexuality does not exist, Liberationists believe that homosexuals should be free of a title, Conservatives choose to not side with right or wrong when discussing homosexuality, and Liberals think that being homosexual can either be a privilege or a way of victimization. This book was very eye opening because it showed how different…

The author, Emily W. Kane, presents interview findings from 42 parents of preschool children from a variety of social backgrounds. The parents involved demonstrated that they were consciously aware of their participation in gendering their children. The article indicates that both gay and heterosexual parents are accepting of their daughters participating in traditionally male activities, with some parents even encouraging their daughters to pursue typical male interests…

In respect the ideas surrounding censorship and minors held by Anderson and Masicampo (2017), Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging should not be banned due to the U.S. Constitution. There is meant to be a separation between church and states, as noted in the platform on which America was founded (Hansen, 2015). Since sanctity is a common driving factor behind motions to censor books such as Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging from children, the challenged should not be upheld due to sanctity not being a component of law in America when regard what books children can read. Similarly, through the lens of Malo-Juvera and Scherff (2017), censorship of this novel would simple hinder students’ growth.
