2. Sexual Harassment/Sexist Behavior:
When presented with increased rates of perceived sexual harassment from both the 2012 and 2014 SAGR surveys some female Midshipmen indicated that they expected the rates to be higher while others thought it seemed accurate. Some female freshman indicated that the phenomenon of male upperclassmen expressing sexual interest in new female freshmen still occurs, worsening around recognition. Other female Midshipmen reported that “a lot of girls here get hounded by guys” over social media. Some male midshipmen indicated that the reports of perceived sexual harassment rates increased on the survey due to more training on the subject.
