Sexual Harassment-Free Workplace

Sexual harassment is defined in the state of Pennsylvania as unwanted touching, romantic

attention, exposure to pornography, suggesting sexual favors, and unwanted commenting on their

body. The most common type of harassment that occurs is men acting perverted toward women,

but it is not just women being harassed, men are harassed as well. Men get harassed in ways such

as humping as a joke for a laugh, or threating in a violent manner.

The U.S. State Department has responsibility in ensuring that people can work in a

harassment-free workplace. Once the department receives a case across their desks, they begin to

take the necessary steps needed to make sur that the matter at hand is investigated and handled

immediately and prompt.

EEO processes- all employees employed in the U.S. and all U.S. citizens working for the

department overseas may file an EEO complaint.

Processes of Foreign Nationals- issues raised are handled by at post according to

complaints processing procedures.

Sexual harassment is a sex form of discrimination which violates Title VII of the Civil

Rights Act of 1964. When investigating accusations of sexual harassment, the EEOC looks into

everything such as circumstances such as the nature of the sexual advances, and the context in

which the alleged incident or incidents occurred, and determination if the sexual harassment

occurred is from the facts on a case-by-case basis.

Prevention is the best way to eliminate workplace sexual harassment. Employers are

encouraged to take the necessary steps needed to stop sexual harassment in the workplace from

occurring. The employer should clearly communicate with their employees that sexual

harassment in the workplace will not be tolerated by offering office training for all employees on

the topic of sexual harassment and implementing a grievance system and also taking immediate

an appropriate actions when a complaint is
