Hi Class,

I read an article on today's Sexual-Harassment, Apologies, Fear and Sclience. It can be found by visiting the New York Times website and looking under their Option page. Please find their direct website link: sexual-harassment.html. This article was written by Laurie Kilmartin. I think this topic will be published over tons of new paper articles and also other sites because it's a major topic that needs to be addressed in the US. We all know California is known for where movies are made and most of the celebrities live in that state. I don't know why what is going on wasn't brought up years ago because it's being going on for a while. I think money and power plays a big part and when you have that it's hard for even the well trusted to go down. I am so happy people are speaking up and I hope justice is served.

After finding this article I found myself surveying. I pretty much knew what the author was going to say because it's been a lot of sexual harassment cases popping up in Hollywood lately. To be honest some are frightening because some of the people being accused are people we have watched on tv or we love their work. My second strategy was reading the entire article to figure out if the author was defending those who are currently accused or if they just wanted to voice their option about what's going on. Reading was the best thing for me to really see what the author wanted me to know as a member of the audience. I agreed with most of her points after finishing the article. We all have the freedom of speech and this situation is

“There I was, getting ready to argue my very first contested case, and it's before the United States Supreme Court. I'll never forget the morning of oral arguments. I got up really early and headed over to put the last touches on my argument. There was a sense of majesty, walking up those stairs, my steps echoing on the marble. I went to the lawyers' lounge — to go over my argument.…

Supreme Court decisions on sexual harassment, particularly in the Faragher case, have increased concerns about the nature of an acceptable policy and complaint mechanism. In that decision, issued on the same day, the Supreme Court ruled that, when there was no direct adverse job action involved, an affirmative defense against claims of supervisor harassment can be made. There is research relevant to the issues of effective policies, investigation processes, and what constitutes a reasonable or unreasonable failure to use an available complaint mechanism. However, further research, written in a way that makes it more accessible to lawyers and the courts, would be of…

This article is about how a gymnastics team physician has molested a gymnast since age 13, along with many others. Although this article centers around one girl, McKayla Maroney. McKayla’s being molested started under the guise of “medically necessary treatment” this treatment started at age 13 and the article hasn’t mentioned what age at which it stopped. McKayla stated her story in a twitter post under the hashtag #MeToo, a campaign sparked by the abuse claims against Harvey Weinstein. McKayla states that, “this is happening everywhere” and that while she did what she had to do to get to her dream, it was “unnecessary and disgusting.”…

Most of his victims had alzheimer's, which is a disease that affects your memory, but they had begun showing signs of anxiety when it came time to ride in the van. He explained that he would wait until he was alone in the van with each victim and then molest her. However, he pleaded not guilty on 10 counts of indecent assault and battery on a person over 60. The driver was released but has to wear a gps device, continue counseling at a veterans hospital and stay away from the company that he was driving for.…

The first section was her explaining the virus, the next section was her talking about Latin America, and how the women there have stricter abortion and contraception laws. She then goes on to explain that teenage pregnancy there is more unfair because “they don’t have access to information, they don’t access to contraceptive, and they don’t have access to the option to terminate a pregnancy”. If she was going to stick with this certain topic, she should’ve expanded…

Michelle Malkin’s purpose is to expose the so-called “lazy advocates and ignorant journalists” who are not fact checking their news, and causing a skewed version of what’s the truth. Malkin uses a social media “meme of the moment” to drive home her point of what journalists and news reporters are doing incorrectly. She gives evidence to what journalists sloppiness has costed civilians, and even ends her column with “When #MeToo bandwagons form in the midst of a panic, innocent people get run over” not only implying that journalist are causing innocent people to be accused of sexual assault but also innocent people who have been sexually assaulted to be denied justice because of them. Malkin plays the underdog role anticipating that after you hear her “sane perspective on an insane issue” you will see that in fact her hesitation to believe what journalists say is not merely her wanting to be cautious, but smart.…
