April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and students and advocates will be seen tomorrow as they march the SlutWalk through UCF to raise awareness of campus sexual violence. The march is held annually by the UCF College Democrats to raise public awareness about sexual violence and to educate communities on how to prevent it.

“The rallies began in 2011 in Toronto after a Toronto Police officer suggested that "women should avoid dressing like sluts as a precaution against sexual assault,” according to UCF College Democrats. Since then, SlutWalks have sparked all over the country.

This month has been sparked with the conversation of sexual assault on college campuses. Public figures and advocates such as Vice President Joe Biden, Lady Gaga
