Data was collected from four UK prisons where there was a big population of men who were 65 years and older. A short coming was that there was no follow up interview after the men were released. There were many research methods taken in this survey such as studying the daily jobs of the prisoners and interviews. Interviews were done in various parts. The interviews were conducted for potential participants and then for people who were chosen experience in prison. There needs to be better communication between the probation officers and the prisons, so that any questions that arose from the elders could be answered. By doing this, some of the elderly’s anxieties can decrease. Limitations in this article was that there was no follow up interviews, race, economic statues were not taken into account. These researchers researched the Family Protection, Domestic violence act, and mandatory arrest rates to gather their data. Qualitative research was guided by interpretive and reflective sociology. Some of the methodological choices in this study depended on participatory action research (PAR). Limitations appeared in the helplines, and how the research was conducted. The research did not allow researchers to see the good in the acts. Another limitation was that there was a small number of callers to the helplines, which made it hard to identify potential relationships.
