These factors also contribute to the five classic criteria that define sexual addiction such as unmanageability, neurochemical tolerance, progression, feeling avoidance, and consequences. The main one I would like to express explicitly about is the cognitive/behavioral factor in sexual addiction. In my fair opinion how a person thinks affects how a person reacts or their behavior towards others. According to Clinton (2005) "Sex addicts, like alcoholics and other addicts, suffer from 'stinking thinking'" (p. 280). In other words, thinking low about one's self, and suffering from esteem issues in many areas of ones life. Stinking thinking might be called "distorted cognitive beliefs" which is a result of having a "lost touch with who they really are in Christ and believe themselves to be worthless" (Clinton, 2005, p. 280). The Bible tells us in Romans 12:2 NIV to "renew our minds" in conformed or patterned behavior compared to what other human
