When the pleasure of sex becomes your worst nightmare, due to a sexually transmitted disease. In America many young adults, between the ages 15 to 24 are becoming infected with sexually transmitted diseases, also known as STDs. It is important to inform the communities how to perform a healthy sexual activity, to prevent any sexual partner from becoming infected during the act. According to the Healthy People 2020, the goal is to educate our society by promoting healthy sexual activities, encourage females and males to have medical check ups, taking prevention measures, and identifying consequence of STDs. It is incredibly important to educate the young adults in the community about the risks they are encountering while having unprotected sex or performing any sexual activity. The consequences are terrible for the uneducated communities in our society, and as a nurse I my plan is to inform everyone how to be safely active. The Healthy People 2020 wants to decrease the high statistics of STDs in young adults and that can only be possibly if people are informed about STDs and educated on how to prevent the diseases and infections. In summary I would establish a difference by educating our society using therapeutic communication, sharing with emotions reminding everyone that even in the moment of desire for pleasure, it is important to remember that health and safety come before anything else. We all deserve to have a long living life full of happiness and it is possible if we are all healthy and protecting each other. Community awareness will motivate young adults to not be afraid or embarrassed, and seek help, medical attention, or advice for a healthy sexual lifestyle.
