Child molesters “groom” their victims. This process can take up to many years. They want to get as close as possible to their victims and they do this by that process. Showering them with affection, attention, and appealing to their needs can make a child become attached and crave the attention they get from the molester. The molester may offers gifts, give special privilege, and take the child to fun places of interest to get closer. By having this dependency and everything the molester does for the child it makes the child have a increased difficulty in becoming assertive and refusing the sexual advances. The more the child doesn 't resist the molester will take that as initiative and push further. If a molester isn 't getting what they want because the child is resisting they molester can guilt the child heavily to get what they want. By surrounding themselves with professional care and a positive environment and help a victim move towards a successful recovery. Inpatient recovery is a shorter term recovery process. This outpatient program can be most beneficial for people who don 't leave home or stay at work for long periods of time. Inpatient centers are also helpful with their round-the-clock supervision and medical care. There are several different methods of treatment for a person, but all methods need to be individual. “There is not one size fits all package of care for children affected by sexual violence.” Recovery can only be effective if the child or person is compliant in receiving the help. If the victim doesn 't experience something traumatic or feel victimized then standard treatment models for sexual abuse may not be applicable. Victims may feel more victimized by parents or law enforcement officials than by their abuser.
