There are many different types of Domestic Violence, such as; physical, emotional, social and sexual violence. On average, at least one woman a week is killed by by a partner or former partner in Australia.

Physical abuse is a partner in any sort of relationship using physical force, or threatening to use physical force which causes harm or can cause harm to you or your family.

Many forms of domestic violence starts out small with just a slap/push or even verbal ‘banter’, but overtime these fun, playful and light games turn into more intense bullying. Often abusers will blame something or someone else for their violence, such as blaming the victim, drugs or alcohol, stress or frustration.
Intense abuse starts when the abuser is no longer apologetic after any form of assault. The abuser can use sulking and anger to force consent to a particular activity.
Impact Of Domestic Violence
Domestic violence has significant impact on the health and well-being of victims that continue after the relationship or abuse has ended through phycological trauma, physical injuries or sickness.
Some immediate impacts may include:
Physical injuries - such as cuts, scrapes and bruises, fractures, dislocated bones
Hearing loss - from physical abuse or from shouting
Vision loss
Homicide
Miscarriage or early delivery
Wounds - knife, gun or open cut wounds
Sexually transmitted diseases

Disorders or illnesses - gastro, intestinal disorders associated with stress or anorexia
